Crissy Pratt, M.Ed., NBCT
Passionate about Education and Family
I am a lifelong educator who has devoted my career to delivering high-quality instruction and developing curricula designed to meet the needs and challenges of all students. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master of Education in Instructional Technology, and am a National Board Certified teacher, as a Middle Childhood Generalist, an honor bestowed to fewer than 3% of teachers nationwide.
I taught in Title I schools in low-socioeconomic areas outside of Washington DC, working as a grade-level chair and head of the science department. I also led school improvement teams, safety committees, and was chair of the behavior management committee. During my teaching career, I worked to deliver high-quality engaging instruction to underperforming students, successfully increasing test scores and performance significantly.
In 2009, I transitioned to curriculum development, creating and implementing a financial literacy curriculum in Baltimore City for Johns Hopkins University. In 2010, I began working in the field of online education, first developing curriculum, then creating instructional multimedia, managing teams of instructional designers, and most recently serving as the Director of Curriculum for an international online school. I have recently accepted a position developing instructional multimedia.
I moved from Maryland to Guilford County in 2015 and reside in High Point with my husband Kevin, my children Sam (sophomore at the Middle College GTCC Greensboro), Josh (High Point Central IB program graduate), and Hannah, and our 3 dogs and 3 cats. I enjoy spending time outdoors, playing board games, volunteering with my church, and hanging out with my family. I also care for my elderly parents - my father is bedridden and my mother was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

- I’m so proud and humbled to be writing this for one of the most amazing teachers that inspired my life. Since grade school, Mrs. Pratt’s hard work and dedication to her students ignited the motivation for me to do the same. I always wanted to be an actor and producer and In grade school, all of your dreams are molded by the people who are around you. From Mrs. Pratt, I learned that you can chase your dreams and love your career as long as you choose what your heart desire. She was an extremely hands-on teacher and made sure that everyone felt loved and cared for. It's mind-boggling to say that being my teacher so long ago, she still has left her footprint in my life. There are only a few teachers and mentors I can remember that were really dedicated to their craft. I still reminisce and think about my time in that classroom because it was an extremely safe, loving, and educating environment. Nearly fifteen years later and I graduated college and obtained everything I set my mind to. I now walk with that same genuine heart that motivates others to do the same thing. Having Mrs. Pratt along my journey has been a treasure. She is a loving, caring human that will make sure she creates a happy and secure environment for whomever she’s around.

Mrs. Pratt was the saving grace for my son James. She was truly that one educator that took my ADHD child’s brain and retrained it. If it weren’t for her patience, expertise, kindness and willingness to work with him, I would not have been able to handle all that came during that time. I feel she is more than willing and able in any capacity of assistance for children anywhere she is.Monique C., parent of former student
Crissy is the leader everyone hopes to have. Her heart and mind are constantly focused on the most important stakeholders -- the students. In the world of education, there are tough issues to handle. Crissy doesn't shy away or back down from a challenge and she doesn't avoid the necessary (and often difficult!) conversations that it takes to make a big difference for kids. She is a rockstar teacher, a fabulous coach, and by far the best supervisor I've ever had.Amy N., former emplyee
